整形外科手术
医生将通过乳房下方或乳晕区域切口，并进行位于乳房或胸肌组织深处的乳房假体的取出。术后患者将被转移到恢复室，室内由医护团队精心照料直到患者从麻醉状态苏醒。随后，患者将被转移到私人休息室，护士会给患者更换绷带，并定时间测量患者脉搏和血压。
术前护理
手术前6小时：
- 若计划进行全身麻醉，请勿进食或饮水（禁食禁水）。
- 请勿化眼妆、涂睫毛膏，并确保面部清洁，无任何化妆品。
手术前，请务必告知您的外科医生您的过敏史、既往病史以及正在服用的药物（包括处方药和非处方药）。
手术前 2星期，应避免服用阿司匹林以及含有阿司匹林或布洛芬成分的药物，减少手术后出血的风险。
手术前4周请停止吸烟，因为吸烟可能会影响麻醉效果，并延缓术后恢复。
患有高血压的患者必须在手术前告知外科医生。

术后护理
在取出乳房假体后，通常随之而来的是浑身不舒服、肿胀、淤青、乳房发硬、疼痛、或刺痛感等症状。以上症状是暂时性的，并在2至3周后逐渐消失，但乳房形态需要数月的时间方能完全稳定。
患者必须遵循医生关于避免驾驶车辆时间的建议，在能确保实行紧急安全停车操作并不感觉身体不适之前，患者不得驾驶。此外，术后4至6周内避免激烈运动，提举重物，游泳，以及吸尘。术后复诊时，医生将对患者进行评估并给出患者恢复正常活动时间的建议。
