Surgeon’s story
Dr. Pongsatorn Sanguanchua, M.D., known as Dr. Jib, was born in a Doctors’ family. His father is a General Surgeon and his mother is a Pediatric Cardiologist. Since he was a kid, his parents were his role models. They constantly worked hard to provide proper treatment to their patients regardless who they were and to help them return to their normal life; this had inspired him greatly to become a doctor.
On the other hand, arts and design were his special interests. He used to be so passionate about it that he really wanted to be an architect. During his internship in a medical school, he had worked in many medical departments in order to proceed with trainings that helped him make a decision which medical specialty was right for him. He then realized that Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was the one that would allow him to utilize his passion in artistry together with his interest in medical career.
After finishing his training in Board of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery, he started his first career as a medical teacher in Division of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery, Prince of Songkhla University. He has been working there for 8 years.
In 2009, he joined BDMS – Phuket team, as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He always learns and practices to continuously improve his skills, techniques, and knowledge related to surgical procedures involving breast surgery (Breast augmentation, Breast lifting, Breast reduction, Fat transfer for breast enhancement), facial surgery (Face Lift, Eyelid surgery), Endoscopic surgery and advanced body contouring surgery (Liposuction, lipofilling, body-contouring surgery).
He believes that the most important factor for a successful surgery is communication before the procedure takes place. Thus, he always listens to his patients to fully understand their expectation and explains clearly to them to make sure that they understand every step of the procedure including which techniques and knowledge he could perform, and treatment plan for the best possible result and faster healing. Surgical safety and natural-look result are also his prior concerns.
